Definition

Default risk rules are the central control instances for valuing credit risks arising from transactions.

Controlling Valuation

Default risk rules are used to determine the credit risk related to a risk object. Default risk rules are thus used, for example, to assign risk sensitivities and date determination rules to transactions.

Assignment

A default risk rule can be assigned to a transaction by means of the transaction's financial object. The same applies for risk objects.

If no default risk rule is maintained for a financial object, then the assignment is dependent on the underlying transaction or the risk object:

  • Transaction types with product types and product types and transaction types: Product types, and a combination of product types with transaction types, can be assigned uniquely to default risk rules.
  • BCA accounts: The BCA product (account type) can be assigned uniquely to the default risk rule.
  • Original risk objects: In risk object maintenance, you can directly assign default risk rules on the level of the risk object for risk objects which are originally contained in the Risk Analyzer.
