Definition
This code represents the Actual Workers'classification code for special category employees, as defined by the State Workers' Compensation Board. These include, for example, employees covered under the Longshore and Harbors Act.
If there is an entry in this field (AWCode), it takes precedence over the WCCode entry for reporting purposes. In all such cases, the AWCode represents the Actual workers' compensation code, whereas the WCCode represents the symbolic code.
However, if the AWCode field is empty, the WCCode is treated as the Actual Workers' compensation code.
This field also provides the flexibility of storing a code up to 10 characters in length.
