Documentation
Definition
This indicator controls whether the characteristic is taken into account when segments are generated (segment-level characteristic).
Internally, the values for the analysis characteristics are stored as segments. A segment is a unique combination of values for the used characteristics.
All characteristics of the analysis structure are available in the information system. The values of the characteristics that are not included in segments are determined from the source of the data record (for example, from the finance object).
Characteristics with many different values (for example, consecutive numbers) should not be used to generate segments. The large number of segments that would result would have a seriously detrimental impact on performance.
In portfolio hierarchies you can only use those characteristics that are marked as relevant for segments.
The settings for segment-level characteristics are internally stored as a view. Each view belongs to a certain analysis structure and incorporates those characteristics that are used for segment generation.
