Definition
Specifies the date from which the properties of the benchmark are to be used to calculate the key figures for this benchmark.
Use
Dependencies
When you create a benchmark:
- When you create a new version of a benchmark, the system enters default values for the properties of the benchmark. It takes the properties of the benchmark that are valid up until the new validity date.
- You can create versions for dates that are in the past.
When you change a benchmark:
- You can change the name of the benchmark and the authorization group assigned to it at any time.
- The benchmark category is defined when the first version of the benchmark is created. It cannot be changed.
- You can change the other properties of a benchmark only if the following conditions are met:
- The benchmark is not assigned to a portfolio hierarchy, either directly, or as part of a composite benchmark.
- No key figures have been calculated for the portfolio hierarchy to which the benchmark belongs.
You can make the change for an existing version, or create a new version and enter new properties for it.
Note: The currency of the benchmark cannot be versioned. This means that if you change the currency, the new currency then applies to all previous versions of the benchmark.
- If you have already calculated key figure values for a benchmark, the following applies:
- You can change the calculation-relevant properties of a benchmark only if no key figures exist that have an evaluation date that falls within the validity period.
- You can create a new version with different properties only if no key figure values were calculated for an evaluation date that falls within the new validity period.
If dependent evaluation data exists, and you want to change the benchmark, proceed as follows: First delete the relevant values of the benchmark key figures, change the properties of the benchmark, can then recalculate the values of the benchmark key figures.
Note: To display the evaluation period in question, choose Benchmark -> Evaluation Data.)
When you delete a benchmark:
You can delete the calculation-relevant properties of a benchmark only if no key figures exist that have an evaluation date that falls within the validity period.
