Use
Analysis runs for final results procedures can be called in the following modes:
- Basic Run (standard update of database using
INSERT
)The system calculates the final result key figures and writes them to the results database (RDB). The system can only start the basic run if the specified procedure for final results has not yet been carried out for the specified date.
Note: If portfolio hierarchies that have filters and test selections are assigned to the final results procedure, in the basic run the system uses the normal selection criteria. The test selections are used only if you select the mode Basic Run for Portfolio Hierarchies with Filters Containing Test Selection..
- Basic Run for Portfolio Hierarchies with Filters Containing Test Selections
You should only use this operation mode in a test system, and you can only start this mode if at least one portfolio hierarchy containing a filter with existing test selections is assigned to the procedure for final results. If, for example, you want to calculate the end result key figures for only one particular portfolio hierarchy node, a filter with test selections must be assigned to that portfolio hierarchy. The assigned filter must contain selections that exactly correspond to the attributes of the required portfolio hierarchy node. While the final result procedure is running, an additional tree structure for the portfolio hierarchy is created temporarily for the test selections, and is used to calculate the final results.
You can check the temporary tree structure of the portfolio hierarchy in the mater data display. If you chose the option Basic Run for Portfolio Hierarchies with Filters Containing Test Selections, the system displays this temporary tree structure in the master data display for the relevant portfolio hierarchies. If the temporary tree structure does not meet your requirements, you can change the test selections in the filter, even though the filter is already defined by the existing evaluation data.
You can also start the basic run with a filter containing test selections as a test run. You do this by choosing the option Test Run for Basic Run.
- Deletion Run (update of database using
DELETE
)The system completely deletes the specified evaluation procedure 2 from the results database for the specified date. You can start the deletion run only if you have already carried out a basic run for the final results procedure and the date you specified.
After the system has successfully deleted the data, the status of the RDB corresponds exactly to the status as it was before the basic run. In other words, this is a deletion and not a cancellation. You can recreate the data only be restarting the relevant basic run.
Dependencies
- You can use the Test Run option to simulate the basic run and the deletion run. The status of the RDB does not change.
- You should use the deletion run especially if underlying transaction or market data has been changed. After the deletion, you restart the basic run and this delivers the updated final results.
