Definition

Specifies the variant in which you store the assignment of benchmarks to portfolio hierarchy nodes.

Use

You can assign just one benchmark to an assignment variant. In the evaluation in the Analyzer Information System (AIS), if you want to analyze multiple benchmarks for a particular portfolio hierarchy node, you must define additional assignment variants.

The assignment variant is one of the parameters of the benchmark runs. You can therefore calculate benchmark key figures for all, or for a selection of assignment variants.

Versions of the assignment of benchmarks to ph nodes are created by means of a validity date.

Dependencies

  • The initial layout of the Analyzer Information System can contain key figures only in conjunction with an assignment variant. The entry is a technical name that complies with the following naming convention: name#n, where name is the name of the benchmark key figure, and n is the number of the assignment variant.
  • The system uses the assignment variant to find the benchmarks assigned to it, and to find the values of the benchmark key figures assigned to the portfolio hierarchy node. If no values were calculated for the key figure of the benchmark for the key date in question, this is shown in the reporting function of the Analyzer Information System as a red zero. This also applies for all the values of the benchmark key figures on the lower-level portfolio hierarchy nodes if these are assigned the benchmarks due to their position in the hierarchy.
