Documentation
Definition
Employees aged 65 or older qualify for the standard tax rebate plus an additional tax rebate.
Note
The last two digits of the amount in this field indicate cents. For example, the value 10020 is R100.20.
Dependencies
Tax rebate data is stored in Set up the tax rebate table and should only be maintained to meet compliance with Revenue Service tax rules. The tax distinction for an additional rebates must be made at the beginning of the tax year (March 1).
Example
If the employee turns 65 years of age anytime within the current tax year, the employee's age group indicator should be set to 7 (65 years of age or older) at the beginning of the tax year and not on the employee's date of birth. Note: This is contingent upon the submission of an age letter.
