Definition
Specifies that changes to the original budget of a budget structure element should be taken into account in the original budgets of higher-level budget structure elements.
Use
If you select this flag, any changes you make will affect the original budgets of the higher-level budget structure elements (since these will have to be increased or decreased).
If you do not select this flag, then any changes you make will result in a change in the budget distributed by the higher-level budget structure element. However, the original budget of the higher-level budget structure element will remain unchanged.
Dependencies
Example
Budget structure element B is a lower-level budget structure element of budget structure element A. Budget structure element has an original budget pf $100,000, and budget structure element B has an original budget of $20,000. In other words, budget structure element A distributes $20,000 to budget structure element B.
You plan an increase of $10,000 in the original budget of budget structure element B.
The Summarize your own changes flag is selected.
In this case, the change you have planned for the original budget of budget structure element B will also mean the the original budget of budget structure element A will have to be increased by $10,000 also. In other words, budget structure element A requires an original budget of $110,000 - $30,000 of which it passes on to budget structure element B.
The Summarize your own changes flag is not selected.
In this case, the original budget of budget structure element A does not have to be changed since only the way in which its original budget is distributed to budget structure element B has changed (and not the amount of its original budget). Budget structure element A still has an original budget of $100,000, but now it passes on $30,000 of this to budget structure element B.
