Documentation
Definition
A quantity of information objects - and possibly also a quantity of data elements - that serve as the basis for a Financials system can be generated dynamically. The data basis therefore stretches the characteristic space.
The generated data structures are specific for the data basis.
Use
The data basis assigns a certain role to the characteristics
(Example: A characteristic can be given the role of a profit center or a legal entity).
Notes:
- The data basis does not serve as a visibility separator in the same way as the client for master data and Customizing data. This means that the data basis is not the key field for master data and Customizing data.
- The data basis cannot be used to separate master data, for example for simulations (Example: For simulation purposes, you want to assign a product to another product group, without influencing the operative dataset).
- It is possible to create more than one data basis in a client. These can differ in their characteristic space: this means that the fields in a business transaction interface in the Accounting Engine are specific for each data basis.
