Definition
Key with which you can access an accounting document.
The document number is unique within a company code and a fiscal year. When recording an accounting document you can specify the number manually, or you can let the system assign the number from a previously defined range (number range).
Using a document type you can specify the range of permitted document numbers (number range) for each company code.
