Documentation
Definition
Organizational unit in logistics that divides a company in the production, procurement, plant maintenance, and material requirements planning views.
A plant produces materials or provides goods and services.
Use
During preference processing, the system analyzes the value added within a plant based on plant-specific bills of product. In this process, the system determines whether the processing rules defined in the preference agreement are fulfilled to obtain preference eligibility.
During legal control for re-export, the system evaluates the plant-specific and cross-plant BOPs to determine which shares (if any) you have to take into account during re-export processing.
Dependencies
You have defined a plant to a unique legal unit. For preference processing, for example, this means you have to define exactly one legal unit for each plant relevant for preference processing and vice versa. In addition, a plant must be assigned to a unique administrative unit for preference processing - that is, either directly or as part of exactly one plant group.
Likewise, you have to assign a plant to exactly one legal unit for legal control for re-exports, and also assign the legal unit to a foreign trade organizational unit.
