Definition
Calculation rules that are used in customs value calculation.
Use
Assignment of a rule for calculating the amount of a duty with category F3 (Total of Specific Cost Components in Customs Currency as Percentage)
001 TCP-Dependent Percentage Rule
This percentage rule is used, for example, in the United States for calculating the harbor maintenance fee. There, the individual harbors can charge different fee amounts. This rule also lets you enter minimum and maximum amounts. The resulting percentage rate is multiplied with a base amount, which you can freely configure as a total with duty type category F3 (Total of Specific Cost Components in Customs Currency as Percentage). You define the percentage rates in Customizing under Global Trade Services -> Customs Management -> Calculation of Customs Duty -> Enter TCP-Dependent Condition for Proportional Calculation of Duties.
002 Simple Percentage Rule
This percentage rule is always applied regardless of any external data and multiplied with a base amount that you can freely configure as a total with duty type category F3 (Total of Specific Cost Components in Customs Currency as Percentage). In other words, the percentage rate is multiplied by a base amount, which in turn reflects the total of specific components in the customs currency. You define the percentage rates in Customizing for Global Trade Services under Customs Management -> Calculation of Customs Duty -> Enter Percentages for Proportional Calculation of Duties. This rule also lets you enter minimum and maximum amounts.
003 Interest
This rule is intended for percentage rates only and is used, for example, for calculating compensatory interest in inward processing scenarios.
004 Calculate Difference
This rule enables the calculation of a difference. A typical application is air freight, in which 70% is allocated from header to item, whereas the remaining 30% is regarded as intra-community air freight costs and is used as the calculation base for the import turnover tax. This condition only makes sense if you simultaneously specify a reference condition and select the duty type with category KR. You enter the reference condition in a separate step when defining the calculation procedure, not when defining the duty type.
005 Invert Amount
This rule enables the conversion of the sign of a duty type. This only makes sense if you simultaneously specify a reference condition, and is only possible for duty types with category KR. You enter the referenced duty type in a separate step when defining the calculation procedure, not when defining the duty type.
006 TCP-Dependent Percentage Rule, Date-Dependent
This is the same as 001 TCP-Dependent Percentage Rule except that you make the percentage rates date-dependent.
007 Simple Percentage Rule, Date-Dependent
This is the same as 002 Simple Percentage Rule except that you make the percentage rates date-dependent.
Dependencies
The assignment of a calculation rule is only supported for totals with duty type category F3. F3 is the only duty category that permits the entering of calculation rules. The calculation rules 004 Calculate Difference and 005 Invert Amount can only be entered with duty types with duty category KR - Complementary Costs with Reference Condition.
You can assign a calculation rule to a duty type once only.
