Definition

In this field you can define the minimum length of the generated search terms. The smaller this value is, the more search terms are generated and vice versa.

The following general rule of thumb applies:

a) Smaller value ==> Large number of search terms ==> High number of hits during the sanctioned party list screening.
BUT: High system load, means that the SPL screening has a longer runtime.

b) Larger value ==> Fewer search terms ==> Lower number of hits during the sanctioned party list screening.
BUT: Reduced system load, meaning that the SPL screening has a shorter runtime.

Note

The runtime and the value for the minimum length of search terms is dependent on the number of sanctioned party list entries and the number of partner master records to be checked.

To ensure that the SPL screening runs as smoothly as possible, you should perform a number of test runs of the SPL screening using different values for minimum search term length. Then select the value for which the SPL screening runs the fastest.
