Definition
The type of rule set classifies the rule sets you have created, in which you can summarize the preference agreements and their rules for a jurisdiction.

Example
It makes sense to create several rule sets for a type of rule set, for example, if you define different numbering schemes in each rule set or want to separate other data at this level.
You can create three different rule sets for the European Union (EU), for example, in order to give the preference agreements an additional geographical perspective:
- Rule set 1: EU-North/South America (all preference agreements that the EU has with the nations in North and South America)
- Rule set 2: EU-North Africa (all preference agreements that the EU has with North African nations)
- Rule set 3: EU-Europe (all preference agreements that the EU has with other European nations that are not EU members)
Nonetheless, all preference agreements are valid in the EU jurisdiction, which is why you assigned rule set type EU when you created rule sets 1-3.
This example can also be applied to the NAFTA area.
