Documentation
Definition
Start of accounting settlement period for which a supplementary customs declaration (SCD) is issued.
The specified settlement period must accord with the approval to which the SCD refers.
Example:
The calendar month is defined as the settlement period in the authorization. In this case, the first day of a month must be specified as the start of the settlement period and the last day of the same month as the end of the settlement period.
For U.S. reconciliation summaries, the start of the settlement period is the earliest release date of the contained customs declarations.
Use
In the SCD, the settlement date is not a selection criterion for the customs declarations that you want to add to the SCD.
The settlement period is sent to the main customs office in the header of the SCD and is checked against the specified authorization within the customs system.
