Documentation
Definition
Internal, technical key for a business object in the Business Object Repository (BOR).
Business objects in the BOR are identified by the object type (for example, BUS2032) and by a descriptive English name (for example, SalesOrder). These two labels must be unique across all object types.
Business objects are often accessed from external applications by the descriptive name, whereas they are mainly identified by the object type internally in the BOR. Originally, only the internal key was used, but the widespread use of business objects resulted in the need to access the business objects with a name. For compatibility reasons, the system now manages both labels.
The object type can be a maximum of 10 characters.
