Documentation
Definition
Internal technical key for a business object in the Object Repository (BOR).
Business objects in the BOR are identified by the object type (e.g. BUS2032) and a descriptive English name (such as SalesOrder). Both descriptions must be unique in all object types.
Business objects are often accessed from external applications using the descriptive name, whereas they are usually identified using the object type internally in the BOR. The internal key only was used originally, but the extended use of business objects, meant it was necessary to access these using a name. Both descriptions are now maintained for reasons of compatibility.
The object type can contain a maximum of 10 characters.
