Definition

Defines the type of incoming message.
The message type influences the status of the current communication activity as well as the document processing status.

The following message types are available:

• Acknowledgment
  Messages to which you assign message type Acknowledgment set the status of the current communication activity to Completed. You can still process the documents.
• Receipt Acknowledgment
  Messages to which you assign message type Receipt Acknowledgment do not modify the status of the current communication activity.
  The system does not change the status of the current communication activity. You can no longer process the documents. You use this message type, for example, for messages that acknowledge the technical receipt of communications.
• Notification
  Messages to which you assign message type Notification do not modify the status of the current communication activity.
  In contrast to an interim notice, the system does not change the status of the current communication activity. The documents can still be processed.
• Interim Notice
  Messages to which you assign message type Interim Notice set the status of the current communication activity to In Process. The documents can still be processed.
• Error Notification
  Messages to which you assign message type Error Notification set the status of the current communication activity to Open. The documents can still be processed, for example, to correct the error.
• Cancellation Notification
  Messages to which you assign message type Cancellation Notification cancel the document.
