Definition
Low-level code
Lowest level of a material where that material appears in any product structure at the site. The low-level code controls the order in which the materials are processed within an MRP run: the materials with level 0 are planned first, followed by the materials with level 1, and so on. The lower the low-level code, the higher the number assigned to the level.
Use
The material is planned at the level where the material master record is located. This means the material is not planned until all the assemblies that contain it have been exploded and planned.
The low-level code is set internally in the material master record during BOM maintenance.
Within preference determination, the low-level code is used to pre-sort the leading parts for determination. The leading parts with higher low-level codes are determined first.
