Documentation
Definition
If you set this indicator, the legal control data (license assignments) of an item is taken from the preceding item.
Use
You can make the following settings:
- Do not transfer legal control data
The legal control data of the preceding item is not transferred and license determination ignores the data of the preceding item
- Transfer control after performing restricted check
The legal control data of the preceding item is only checked for validity, status and, depending on the attributes of the license type of the assigned license, value and quantity. All other criteria set in the license type, such as country of destination, material and so on, are ignored
- Check legal control data for new document again
All of the criteria defined in the license type are checked. However, The legal control data of the preceding item is assigned if the item in question has several licenses.
Dependencies
You must set the 'transfer legal control data from preceding item' indicator at the item category activation level.
Example
An SD order was transferred to the SAP GTS system and locked because a license was missing. This lock was removed after a license was manually assigned to it in SAP GTS. If the SD delivery were generated and transferred, the SAP GTS system would also lock it because the license was not determined automatically in the order. Therefore, the delivery would also have to released manually.
If you activate legal control data transfer, the license which was manually assigned to the order would be transferred to the delivery thereby simplifying this process.
