Definition

ISO code for units of measurement. An ISO code can be assigned to several internal units of measurement for a dimension.

Use

The ISO code is important for EDI. It is used to convert SAP internal units of measurement to standardized units of measurement. Exchanging data using EDI means that converting internal units of measurement in the ISO code is mandatory.

An up-to-date list of the international ISO codes that are currently used can be obtained from the corresponding UN commission (WP.4 Trade Facilitation Recommendations, Recommendation 20):
