International standardized key for the country in accordance with ISO 3166.
Use
This entry is used to check the VAT registration number for countries who are members of the European Community. The VAT registration number can be recorded in the master record of a customer, vendor or company code.
When information is exchanged using EDI, the ISO code is used as the country key. The ISO code must therefore be specified for each country in this field if you are using EDI.
The ISO code also controls which additional information is relevant to a company code. You can only ever enter additional information if it is relevant to the country for the company code or for all countries. The ISO code is used to make the assignment to the country.
