Definition

Defines the item category in customs documents (standard item, text item, and so on).

Use

The combination of document type and item category controls which of the following services the SAP GTS system performs:

  • Embargo check
  • Export/import control
  • Sanctioned party list screening
  • Customs processing
  • Transit procedures
  • Preference processing
  • Restitution

You can make additional settings for each service and item category. You should make these settings when you activate the individual services for an item category in the respective area menu.
