Definition
You use this flag to control whether or not the validity of a code number can be changed.
Use
If the flag is set, the system allows both manual and automatic changes to the validity.
If the flag is not set, the validity cannot be changed.
Dependencies
The system only allows you to change the end of validity. You cannot change the start of validity.
Example
In general, code numbers are valid indefinitely. It is possible, however, for a code number to be released only for a certain period (such as a year). Before the year ends, a decision is made whether or not to extend the validity by another year.
If you set this flag, the validity of the number can be extended accordingly in the GTS system. If the flag is not set, the same number has to be created again. In this case, the system modifies the validity periods of the two numbers automatically, to ensure no overlaps occur.
