Definition

You use this characteristic to indicate the role that the group of logical systems plays in your GTS system.

The following roles are available:

  • Group of feeder systems that are run as a live system
  • Group of feeder systems that are run as a test system
  • Group of feeder systems that are run as a training system
  • Group of feeder systems that are run as a demo system
  • Group of feeder systems that are run as a Customizing system
  • Group of feeder systems that are run as an SAP reference system

This field should be maintained for the purposes of documentation.

The system uses this field operationally in output control for the "Group of Logical Systems" field on the selection screens of various transactions in SAP GTS:
If a group of logical systems within a system group is unique, you no longer have to enter it on the selection screens of transactions in SAP GTS. The system determines it automatically.

Example

If only one group of logical systems is defined and is is classified as a group of feeder systems that are live, you no longer have to enter this group of logical system on the selection screens of transactions in SAP GTS.
