Legal change effective from January 1, 1996

Council Regulation (EC) No 1172/95 of 22 May 1995, Article 10, Point 1 (g) states that, as of January 1996, the internal mode of transport should be specified for trading with non-EU countries. An internal mode of transport is the mode of transport by means of which export goods leave the point of departure, or by which import goods reach the point of arrival. If the type of transport mode involved is not known in individual cases, it is possible to specify the mode of transport normally used for goods in similar circumstances.
