Use
Your entry in this field combined with your entry in the Number of Initialization Periods for Intermittent Fcst Model field, on the Model Parameters tab page produces one of the criteria that the system uses to decide whether a location product can be forecasted using the intermittent forecast model and whether it passes the sporadic test.
To make these decisions, the system checks whether a certain percentage of the periods in the historical time frame were zero-demand periods. This percentage results from the quotient of your entry in this field and your entry in the Number of Initialization Periods for Intermittent Fcst Model field.
Dependencies
Example
In the Number of Zero-Demand Periods in Intermittent Forecast Model field, you have entered 6. In the Number of Initialization Periods for Intermittent Fcst Model field, you have entered 24.
The system creates the quotient from these two values: 6/24 = 25%.
In this case, 25% of the periods in the historical time frame must be zero-demand periods, so that the location product is considered by the intermittent forecast model and passes the sporadic test.
