Definition

The UTC-time stamp represents the date and time in terms of UTC (Universal Time Coordinated).

To standardize local times as a UTC time stamp and thus bring them into line with one another, they must be converted, stating their time zone. For this you can use the ABAP convert command.

Even though the time zone based on this calculation can be identified again from Customizing or master data, we recommend that you also save the time zone, albeit redundantly.

The internal structure of the UTC time stamp is logically subdivided into date and time parts in the condensed character format <YYYYMMDDhhmmss>. A high-resolution UTC time stamp (10^-7 seconds) is also available.
