Documentation
Definition
Specifies that assignments that you drag to the Gantt view of the planning board are attached to the next assignment or next break while taking into account the travel times.
Use
If you select this checkbox and drag an assignment manually to the required row in the Gantt chart of the planning board, the system automatically aligns the assignment with the existing assignments. It adds the assignment to the next assignment or break, and considers the travel times that are relevant for both assignments.
Both concrete and stretched assignments can be aligned provided that the start and end of the assignments are not interrupted by periods of non-availability.
Dependencies
To activate this function, you must define a maximum time interval (in hours) that can be between two objects that are to be aligned to one another (assignment or break).
If you have activated the Assignment Follows Demand function for the respective demand type and the demand category, this function has priority when assignments are created in the planning board. This means that the assignments are based on the demand data only and not existing assignments.
You activate the Assignment Follows Demand function in Customizing under Sources of Demand --> Demand Settings --> Activate Assignment Follows Demand Function or Activate Assignment Follows Demand Function (ERP) (for demands from SAP ERP).
