Definition

Country key that is used to define the criteria used to check entries, such as the length of a postal code or bank account number, for example.

In general, the two-character ISO-CODE is used in accordance with ISO 3166, and this is shipped by SAP as standard.

Other options include the country keys for vehicles or a key typical of the country. For example, in Germany this could be the key of the Federal Statistical Office.

The country keys are defined in the global settings during system setup.

The definition of the country key in the SAP system does not have to correspond to political or federal entities.

Since the country key does not have to correspond to the ISO code in all cases, programs that make a distinction between the specific values of the country key must not reference the country key T005-LAND1, but instead must be programmed to use the ISO code T005-INTCA.
