Definition
You use this indicator to specify that the operation must be split during scheduling.
If you do not select the indicator, the operation is split during reduction if you defined splitting in the reduction strategy.
Use
The following methods are available for splitting an operation:
- You can enter a maximum number of splits.
The system distributes the lot or operation processing across this number of partial lots or individual capacities.
- You can enter a minimum processing time.
During this economical splitting, the system determines the number of splits by dividing the processing time of the operation by the minimum processing time.
In both methods, distribution is restricted to the number of individual capacities that are assigned to the scheduling-relevant capacity in the work center.
If you select the Required Splitting indicator but do not enter a minimum processing time or the maximum number of splits, the system distributes the lot or operation processing across the number of individual capacities of the scheduling-relevant capacity.
Dependencies
The operation is split only if you specify that it is scheduled in the control key.
