Documentation
Definition
Indicates the revision level of a material or document in addition to the change number.
Procedure
You can enter the revision level when you make a change with reference to a change number for a specific "valid from" date.
To do so, proceed as follows:
- Changing a material
You can enter the revision level directly during processing in the material master record or in the material BOM in the BOM header.
- Changing a document
For documents, you can use the document type to control whether a revision level is to be assigned. In this case, you define a document status for which the release indicator is selected. As soon as you process a document of this type with a reference to a change number and set this status for the first time, the revision level is assigned automatically.
Dependencies
You must define a revision level before you can enter it. To do so, maintain the following IMG activities: Logistics -> Central Functions -> Engineering Change Management -> Revision Levels -> Define Revision Levels for Materials/Documents.
In the Set Control Data work step, specify how the assignment is to be made.
