Definition
Amount of expected material costs in the controlling area currency
Use
Using the amount maintained here, you can plan material costs for the operation at an earlier planning stage without having to fully define the material components.
If material components are later added to the operation, the planning amount in the information system is reduced accordingly by the amount of the material components until it is completely canceled. In the operation itself, the planned amount remains unchanged.
Example
You plan a flat rate of EUR 2000 for material costs for an internally processed activity. The expected material costs are then updated to the cost type defined in the network profile on the operation.
Later, you assign material components for raw materials with a total value of EUR 1500 to the operation.
The following values are then updated for the operation:
Raw materials EUR 1500
Exptd matl costs EUR 500
