Definition

Specifies the sequential number of the takt within a line segment.

A takt is a processing station on the production line. A material spends a minimum takt time in each takt, in order to be processed there. This minimum takt time is the reciprocal of the maximum production rate.

Example

If you have a maximum production rate of 6 pieces per hour, the minimum takt time is 10 minutes. A material can therefore be processed for a period of 10 minutes in each takt.

Use

You can enter an unlimited number of takts for a line segment. When doing this, you must make sure that the number of takts in the line hierarchy remains clear. For this reason, the number of takts per line segment can only be processed on one hierarchy level.
When you create a new line hierarchy, the system assigns a takt to the line hierarchy header. The number of takts is therefore maintained at header level. If you insert further line segments, you can choose for each branch (from the top level downward) at which level you want to enter the number of takts for the line segments. The line segments at that level will then also determine capacity for the branch.

Dependencies

When you operate a production line with variable line speed, do not select the indicator Basis for Scheduling in the line hierarchy. Sequencing then simply uses the planned rate in takt-based scheduling. The reciprocal of the planned rate specifies how long a material can be processed in a takt and in which time intervals a material is completed.
