Definition
Specifies how the costs are to be distributed to the co-products
Use
When you create a process or production order, the system generates an order item for each co-product. The actual costs for goods issues, confirmed internal services, and so on, are collected in the order header. Goods receipts for the co-products are entered with a reference to the order item.
At the end of the period, the actual costs incurred for the order are distributed to the individual co-products according to equivalence numbers or percentages. Differences between the actual costs distributed and the credit postings for the goods receipts are posted to stock accounts.
The apportionment structure specifies the following for each co-product:
- Which equivalence numbers or percentages are used to distribute the costs to the order items
- Until when the equivalence number or percentage is valid
The apportionment structure can contain a source structure, which splits the actual costs according to the source assignments. For each source assignment, you can specify which equivalence numbers are used. In this way you can, for example, distribute the material costs and internal services to the co-products according to different equivalences.
Based on the apportionment structure, and where applicable the source structure, the system generates a settlement rule that distributes the costs collected in the order header to the order items (co-products). For each co-product, the system generates another settlement rule that assigns the costs distributed to the order items to the account.
Procedure
Define an apportionment structure for each primary product and process material. The same co-product can appear in several master recipes or bills of material. The material in the order header determines which apportionment structure is used as the basis for distribution.
