Definition

The UTC time stamp indicates the date and time based on UTC (Universal Time Coordinated).

To standardize local times in a UTC time stamp and make them comparable, they must be converted based on your time zone. The ABAP command convert allows you to do this.

Even if the time zones used for the conversion can be determined from Customizing or master data, we recommend that you save the time zone as redundant data.

The internal structure of the UTC time stamp is divided logically into a date and time component in packed character format <YYYYMMDDhhmmss>. In addition, a UTC time stamp in long form (10^-7 seconds) is available.
