Definition
Country key that is used to define checks for the data entered, for example, the length of a postal code or the length of a bank account number.
In general, the two-character ISO code is used in accordance with ISO 3166. This is shipped as standard by SAP.
Other possibilities include the country key for vehicles or a key defined within the country itself (for example, the keys defined by the Federal Statistical Office in Germany).
Country keys are defined in the global settings when the system is installed.
The definition of country keys in the SAP system does not have to correspond to political or state entities.
Since the county key does not have to correspond to the ISO code in all installations, programs that function based on the values defined for the country key must not request country key T005-LAND1, but must be programmed to ISO code T005-INTCA.
