Use
The following applies:
- If you select this checkbox, the system calculates the defined demand reserve and the remaining demand reserve.
You can display the demand reserve using the Capacity and Demand Overview report. The system adds the remaining demand reserve to the total demand if the remaining demand reserve is greater than zero for a particular calendar week.
- If you do not select this checkbox, the system does not calculate neither the defined demand reserve nor the remaining demand reserve. The system does not add the remaining demand reserve to the total demand.
Dependencies
You can define a demand reserve for one or multiple calendar weeks using transaction /MRSS/DEMAND_RESERVE. If you define a demand reserve, the system adds this demand reserve to the total demand.
If demand work (and/or assignment work) exists for a particular calendar week, the system reduces the demand reserve by the existing demand (and assignment) work.
The remaining demand reserve is displayed in the Capacity and Demand Overview report.
If the existing demand work (and assignment work) exceeds the demand reserve in a particular week, the system considers the remaining demand reserve to be zero.
Note:
The remaining demand reserve cannot have a negative value, since the demand reserve does not reduce the total demand further if actual demand work exists.
Example
You expect the workload to be 100 hours in calendar week 45. However, the demand has not yet been created in the system, for example, because the PM service orders have not yet been created. Therefore, you define a demand reserve of 100 hours of work for calendar week 45. This demand reserve is added to the total demand that is displayed in the Capacity and Demand Overview report.
