Definition

Indicates the maximum duration (in minutes) a non-availability can have in order to display a collision as a single unit in the planning board.

Note:
This field is only relevant for collisions between capacitive assigments.

Use

You use this field to specify how long a period of non-availability can be without interrupting a collision in the planning board.

If you do not enter a duration (min) here, a collision that is caused by the same collision object and extends across multiple periods of non-availability is displayed as multiple objects.

Dependencies

This field is only relevant if the following applies:

  • Collisions between capacitive assignments have been configured in Customizing under Collision Settings --> Define Collisions.
  • The availability-based utilization calculation has been activated in Customizing under Basic Settings --> Configure Basic Settings .
  • The use of utilization-based collisions has been activated in Customizing under Set Up Scheduler Workplace --> Collision Settings --> Configure Settings for Collisions.

Example

Resource A has 2 capacitive assignments of 2-week duration each. The resource's working time is Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00.

The following applies:

  • If you do not enter a duration in this field, 10 single collisions (one per day) are displayed in the planning board between 9:00 and 17:00.
  • If you enter a duration of, for example, 1000 min, the collision extends across periods of non-availability of up to 1000 min, for example, through the night. In that case, only two collisions are displayed - one for each week starting on Monday and ending on Friday.
  • If you enter a duration of, for example, 4000 min, the collision can also extend across the weekend, resulting in only one collision being displayed.
