Definition

Amount field that shows the change requirements for direct write-offs.

Use

Direct write-offs are generated whenever a loss incurred is greater than the value adjustment position accumulated in the previous billing periods.

Dependencies

Direct write-offs do not affect the value adjustment position.

The change requirement for direct write-offs can be:

  • Direct write-off (positive amount, shown without +/- sign)

    Which means an increase in the posted direct write-off.

  • Reset Direct Write-Off (negative amount, shown with '-' sign)

    Which means reduction of the posted direct write-off by partially or completely reversing direct write-offs posted by previous evaluations.

In the Customizing activity Define Settlement Period Changes, you can define billing periods that vary from the calendar year.
