Definition

The accounting components serve the technical and functional division of business accounting.

There are mandatory components, such as:

  • Accounting Engine
  • Flow Control
  • Local Integrity. These components provide business accounting with its basis functionalities and are needed for the generation of an executable data basis. They are automatically assigned to each data basis when created.

Other components are optional, such as:

  • Cost and Revenue Journal
  • Profitability Management View
  • Business Transaction Pure Profit.

To provide a data basis with special functionality, assign these components to it in Customizing.

The list of optional components can be extended for new application of business accounting. At the moment, only the named components are available.

Each component has a component type. These are:

  • AE = Accounting Engine
  • BT = Business Transaction
  • FC = Flow Control
  • LI = Local Integrity
  • J = Journal
  • V = View

The component types are assigned to the components in table /EACC/'TCOMPON.

Some components are configured freely in Customizing and must be configured in a subsequent step. This is done in Customizing, during the activity Runtime System -> Activate Components in the Data Basis.
