Definition
Defines whether a characteristic is stored in data retention in the Profitability Management View, and is therefore contained in the totals records in data retention.
During selection of characteristics for a variant, the system sets this flag for every chracteristic. This flag cannot be reset for certain fixed characteristics (characteristics that must always be in data retention).
If you switch this flag off for a characteristic, the totals records in data retention are then summarized according to this characteristic. That is, you cannot report according to this characteristic or define allocations with regard to the characteristic with the BW query.
By switching off the flag, you can reduce the data volume that is stored in the Profitability Management View, provided that you are happy for the affected characteristic to be stored in the line item.
