Documentation
Definition
Lot size of a costed item (for example, material or sales order) in the base unit of measure.
Use
A costing result is created on the basis of a costing lot size. If costing for a material (for example, a semifinished product) is used in the next low-level code for valuation of another material (for example, finished product), the costing result is converted to the costing lot size of the costed material (in this case, the finished product) to determine the material usage costs for the finished product.
If the base unit of measure differs from the valuation unit of measure (see costing view 1 in the material master) then the content of this field has been automatically determined using the conversion factor for the valuation and the base unit of measure that applied when costing was performed.
Dependencies
You can use the lot size to specify the costing lot size for the highest material as the basis for costing of lower-level materials for material costing and sales order costing.
