Use

In this Customizing activity, you can define Web links and widgets that can be displayed in Favorites content blocks on the Home page of a business role.

Web links are simple URLs that are displayed in a separate window in the WebClient UI. Widgets are graphical objects that show dedicated information, typically from an external source.

Requirements

Standard settings

The user can personalize Web links and widgets under the Favorites settings on the central personalization page in the WebClient UI. However, these settings are only available if the necessary Customizing settings at business role level have been performed beforehand.

To make Web links and widgets available in the Favorites content block on the Home page of a business role, Web link groups and widget groups need to be assigned to the corresponding function profiles of a business role, in the Customizing activity Define Business Role. The function profiles to be used for Web links and widgets are, respectively, EXT_WEB_LINKS and WIDGET_LINKS.
