Use

n this IMG activity, you can generate an XML file of your business role. This XML file can be imported in SAP NetWeaver Portal to generate a portal role. For more information how to process the XML file, see section 'Role Upload Tool' in Portal Integration Overview.

Activities

Proceed as follows if you want to upload a business role:

  1. Select the business role that you want to upload.
  2. Select the necessary parameters under Generate:
    • Role
If the indicator is set, the role is generated. If this role has already been uploaded to the portal, the indicator is not to be set, so the role element is not overwritten.
    • Templates
iVews are generated on the basis of templates. Templates must be generated unless they have already been uploaded and are available in the target path.
    • Worksets
Worksets must be generated unless they have already been uploaded to the portal. The role entry can only be generated if the worksets are available; the worksets require that visible iViews (and, consequently, the templates) be uploaded either before or during the upload.
    • Visible iViews
Visible iViews must be generated unless they have already been uploaded.
All links that are visible in the CRM navigation bar are treated as visible here; to provide full functionality, they need to be available as iViews in the portal.
    • Invisible iViews
If the indicator is set, iViews are generated for links that are used but are not visible in the CRM navigation bar. In the standard, these iViews are not required; however, the worksets can be changed manually and these iViews can be included.
  3. Enter the following target parameters:
    • Path in PCD
This path specifies the target in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) where the generated portal content is saved.
Choose Content Administration -> Portal Content -> Browse -> Portal Content. Here you can select any folder for which you have write permission.
      Examplepcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap..crm_portal_integration/com.sap.crm.CRM/com.sap.crm.SALESPRO
    • Main Folder Name
This name specifies the main folder in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) where the generated portal content is saved.
      Recommendation
We recommend to use a folder name that identifies the backend system. If your system name is XYZ, for example, you can use the main folder name CRM_XYZ. Your role content is saved in a separate folder in the main folder CRM_XYZ.
  4. Select one of the following options in the Work Centers section:
    1. In Detailed Navigation
This means that the generated work centers are displayed in the detailed navigation of the portal. In this case, the top-level navigation bar looks as follows:

  • On the first level tab CRM is displayed. Several entries are merged to the single 'CRM' entry.
  • On the second level tab the name of your uploaded business role appears, for example, Sales Professional.
  1. On Second Level Navigation
This means that the work centers are displayed on the second level of the top-level navigation bar in the portal. The logical links assigned to every work center are displayed in the detailed navigation of the portal. In this case, the top-level navigation bar looks as follows:
  • On the first level tab the name of your uploaded business role is displayed, for example, Sales Professional.
  • On the second level tab all work centers assigned to your business role are displayed.
  1. On Top Level Navigation
This means that the work centers are displayed on the first level tabs of the top-level navigation in the portal. The logical links assigned to every work center are displayed on the second level tabs. In this case, the detailed navigation is empty.

  1. Enter the following technical parameters:
    • CRM System in Portal
This name specifies the system alias.
    • Namespace
This value is used to group objects, for example, iViews, and worksets.
    • Collection
This attribute is used for translation purposes. The default value is DEFAULT_COLLECTION.
  2. Enter the path of the output file.
This path specifies where the XML file is saved after the upload. The name of the XML file corresponds to the business role name. You can enter a path on your local computer or a network path.
