Use

In this IMG activity, you can configure the transaction launcher. You can use this wizard to create or maintain launch transactions that are used in business roles.

You can use this function to launch:

  • Uniform Resource Locators (URLs)
  • Business Server Pages (BSPs) of other systems
  • Business Object Repository (BOR) transactions

Requirements

  • To launch BSPs and BOR transactions, you have defined the logical system. You have mapped this logical system with transaction Transaction Launcher Logical Systems (CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS). You have mapped the logical system to the current target logical system and have defined the SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS) to be used. This mapped logical system is then used in the transaction launcher.
  • To launch BOR transactions in SAP ERP, you have defined the following:
    • The RFC system setup with transaction RFC Destinations (SM59)
    • The logical system with transaction Maintaining Logical Systems (BD54)
      Note
      This system must be the same system that you have defined in the target system with transaction Client Administration (SCC4)
    • Mapping of the RFC system to the logical system with transaction Assign RFC Destinations to Logical Systems (BD97)
    • The mapped logical system and its mapping to a current logical system with transaction Transaction Launcher Logical Systems (CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS)
    • The Internet Transaction Server (ITS) URL for the ITS service WEBGUI in SAP ERP.
  • To launch URLs, you have defined the URLs in a URL repository. You have defined the URL in view CRMV_IC_LTX_URL, which is accessible via transaction Maintain Table Views (SM30). If you want to call sap.com for example, you need to define an URL with the ID SAP and enter the complete URL, that is, http://www.sap.com. This ID is then used in the transaction launcher.

Activities

Create Launch Transaction

To create a launch transaction, proceed as follows:

Enter Technical Details

  1. Enter the launch transaction ID, for example, ZCT_SU01.
    This ID is used to create the logical link.
  2. Enter the component set.
    The default entry is ALL.
  3. Enter a meaningful description, for example, Launch Transaction SU01.
  4. Enter the class name, for example, ZZCL_CT_SU01.
    Note
    The first characters correspond to your namespace, for example, YCL_ or ZZCL_ followed by the launch transaction ID.
  5. Select Stateful if you want the transaction to be launched in a separate window.
    Recommendation
    Deselect Stateful .
  6. Deselect Raise Veto.
    Note
    This indicator is only used in the IC WebClient.

Enter Further Technical Details

  1. Leave the object type and the object action empty.
  2. Select the transaction type.
    • URL Transaction: For URLs, for example, http://www.sap.com
    • BOR Transaction: For BOR transactions
  3. Enter the name of the logical system.
  4. Enter the BOR object type.
  5. Enter the method name.

Enter Transaction Parameters

Enter the transaction parameters according to your launch transaction.

Include Launch Transaction in Business Role

To include a launch transaction in a business role, proceed as follows:

  1. Start IMG activity UI Framework -> Technical Role Definition -> Define Navigation Bar Profile.
  2. Enter the logical link ID of the launch transaction under Define Logical Links, for example, ZCT-USER-TL.
  3. Choose the link type Launch Transaction.
  4. Enter the target ID EXECLTX.
  5. Enter the transaction launcher ID in the Parameter field, for example, ZCT_SU01.
  6. Enter CL_CRM_UI_LTX_NAVBAR_PARAM in the Parameter Class field.
  7. Enter a title, for example, User Maintenance.
  8. Enter a meaningful description, for example, User Maintenance Transaction SU01.

Change Launch Transaction

You can use the transaction launcher to adapt certain settings of your launch transaction. However, certain settings cannot be changed. In this case, you need to create a new launch transaction.
