Use

In this Customizing activity, you can maintain the field mappings between source and target objects for synchronization. This mapping controls the data movement from the source object to the target object during synchronization.

Requirements

  • You have maintained objects for synchronization in the Customizing activity Decision Flow Management Settings -> Maintain Objects for Synchronization.
  • Optional: You have maintained scenario IDs in the Customizing activity Decision Flow Management Settings-> Attribute Synchronization-> Define Scenario ID.
  • To use your own mapping functions in the Function column, you must have defined them in the Customizing activity Maintain Mapping Functions.

    Note: To use this function, you must have switched on the switch 0002 Master Switch -> 0008 Enhanced Capital and Resource Mgmt Switch (see SAP Note 1457426) in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Portfolio Management -> Global Customizing -> Global Settings -> Override Default Global Settings.

Standard settings

Activities

  • Create entries

To create field mapping entries, proceed as follows:

  1. In the Select Main Grouping and Subgrouping for Source view, select the combination of main grouping and subgrouping for the source object. The source object is the object from which the data will flow to the target object during synchronization.
  2. After selecting the main grouping and sub grouping in the first view, navigate to the Field Mapping view, and choose New Entries. Make the following settings:
    1. Select the scenario ID form the dropdown list. This scenario ID indicates the scenario in which the current field mapping will be used.
    2. Select the source field from the value help. This is the source object field from which the target object field will be synchronized.
    3. Select the target main grouping from the value help. This is the target object that is synchronized with the selected source object.
    4. Select the target subgrouping. This is the subobject within the chosen target object that is synchronized with the selected source subobject.
    5. Select the target field from the value help. This is the target object field which will get synchronized with the chosen source object field.
      6. The Rule column is not used currently, it is for future usage.
    6. Save the newly created entry.

Example

You want to create a field mapping for the source object main grouping PDCP and source object sub grouping PDCP. You want to create this mapping for the scenario ID Standard Mapping and the source field DESCRIPTION. You want use the target main grouping PPO. To do this enter the data as follows:

Source Main Grouping:    PDCP Project Definition (Project Management)

Source Subgrouping:    PDCP Project Definition (Project Management)

Scenario ID:    Standard Mapping

Source Field:    DESCRIPTION

Target Main Grouping:    PPO Portfolio Item (Portfolio Management)
