There are two categories of yield key figures: Key figures of the key figure category PA_YLDCC are disjunctive key figures, that is, they are calculated independently of one another for non-overlapping time periods. These key figures represent a yield value in any currency and for a particular time period.
Key figures of the category PA_YLDSNCC are overlapping key figures, that is, the key figures are calculated from the same starting date. These key figures represent a yield value calculated using a particular yield method. This value is in a particular currency, and for a particular time period.
These key figures are also referred to as period-to-date key figures. This means that daily yields are calculated for the calculation period in question, which leads to the overlap. The same start date is used for the calculation of the key figures Year-to-Date, (start of year to current date), Month-to-Date (start of month to current date), Quarter-to-Date (start of quarter to current date).
Both key figure categories contain two basic key figures of the categories PA_POSCC (position in evaluation currency) and PA_FLWCC (flow in evaluation currency)
You need to make sure that the two basic key figures you select have the same attributes as regards their currency and the evaluation type. If, for example, the position is calculated in EUR, the new money also has to be calculated in EUR. You ensure that their attributes match by specifying the correct basic key figures.
The system also contains the yield methods time-weighted and modified Dietz.
The time-weighted method takes the inflow and outflow of external capital movements into account when calculating the yield. These values are removed from the calculation, since they are not part of portfolio management, and should therefore have no impact on system performance.
The modified Dietz method is a way of estimating the timing of exogenous funds inflows and outflows when the exact time points cannot be determined.
The time intervals year, quarter, month, and day, can be used.

Requirements
You can maintain yield key figures only if basic key figure of the categories PA_POSCC and PA_FLWCC have been maintained, and they have the same currency and evaluation type.

Activities
- Choose the activity Key Figure: Maintain Yields in Evaluation Currency.
- Choose Display/Change to switch to the change mode. Then choose New Entries.
- Enter an 8-character ID for the key figure, and a description.
- Using the input help, choose the required basic key figures for Basic Key Figure 1 and Basic Key Figure 2. Make sure that the basic key figures are compatible.
- Choose a yield method and an interval.
- Save your settings.
