Use
To define the tax type, characteristics of the tax type such as country, tax groups, deductibility reason, and so on.
To define tax events and characteristics of the tax events such as assigned countries, tax types, and calculation procedure.
To define product usage indicator.
- Define Tax Type
- In this activity you assign tax types:
- To a tax category.
- A Tax Type ID for conditions and pricing. A tax type ID must be unique within a tax category.
- Applicable condition types, such as tax rate condition type, quantity-based condition type, and so on.
- Define Tax Rate ID
- Tax rate IDs, FULL, NONE, and HALF, designate the amount of the applicable tax that is levied and are used for:
- Transferring documents from CRM and SRM via settings made in Define Tax Code and Account Determination Keys(TTE Customizing)
- Maintain Tax Rates and Exemptions (TTE Customizing).
- The invoice print.
- For the output document.
- Define Business Partner Tax Group/Product Tax Group
- A tax group is used to assign the tax status in terms of the amount of the tax rate that is levied such as Full, None, Reduced.
- Define Deductibility Reason
- Indicates why certain services and products can be offset .
- Assign Exemption Condition Type
- Exemption condition types assigned are available for maintenance in Maintain Tax Rates and Exemptions (TTE Customizing).
- Define Legal Text ID
- Applicable to Brazil. The legal text ID is the tax law for ICMS and IPI tax and must be defined for the Nota Fiscal.
- Define Tax Event
The tax event determines the tax type(s) and the tax calculation procedure to be applied to a transaction.Tax events are defined per country.
The tax event is used:
As a calculation parameter for influencing the tax rate determination.
For reporting, as it can identify the transaction from a taxation point of view.

- Product Usage Indicator
Maintain this indicator only if the use of a product influences tax determination, as is the case in Brazil.
