Use

In this IMG activity you make the settings for the accrual/deferral of product types within the securities area.

• In the first step you determine which positions are to be accrued/deferred by specifying an accounting code, valuation area and product type under Area
• You assign profit-related flows to be accrued/deferred per area in the second step, specifying as you do so:
• Which accrual/deferral method you want to use
• Whether or not the netting account should be taken into consideration
• Which method should be used to calculate the accrual/deferral amounts in the accrual/deferral function
• Which update types you want to use for the accrual/deferral flows

Note that only those update types for interest, accrued interest, fees and every other profit-related flow with the following attributes can be accrued/deferred:

Days calculation method (in the case of interest payments, this can be derived from the interest calculation method).

Requirements

The update types must already be defined and assigned to usages.

Example

In order to realize linear pro rata price gains for the remaining term of the security assign accrual/deferral update types to the relevant price gain update types.
